Thoughtful Finds
Beautiful things that earn their place.
A small edit of everyday objects where form and function meet.

Begin with the job
A beautiful object becomes valuable when it serves the life you actually lead. Before buying, name the job it needs to do. A jug should pour cleanly. A storage basket should fit its shelf. A lamp should put light where you need it, without glare.
Ask a few better questions
Can it be cleaned easily? Will its size suit the space? Is there a replacement part for the piece most likely to wear out? The answers matter more than a product description filled with flattering adjectives.
Beauty is a practical pleasure
There is nothing frivolous about enjoying the objects you use every day. But enjoyment need not mean novelty. A familiar bowl, a comfortable handle or a well-balanced tool can offer pleasure for years.
Give it a little time
Save a possible purchase and revisit it after a few days. If the need has disappeared, so has the reason to buy. Choosing well sometimes means choosing nothing at all.
